With the current issues of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) we’re all wanting to keep things cleaned, but these do not replace bacteria-killing disinfectants. These are just typical things we use to keep tidy and clean. So, I wanted to make this post and share with you the things we use in our household to clean with regularly. Some don’t like the smell of my favorite cleaner, but after you use it so much you’ll begin to become accustomed to the smell. Honestly, I’d rather be safe than sorry when it comes to my furbabies.
1. Vinegar
Vinegar is an amazing cleaning product. You can get this with lavender already mixed in at the dollar store and it’s not as strong of the vinegar smell. The acetic acid part of the vinegar makes it an amazing cleaner! It’s a favorite at my house. They may not love it, but I do! It also works as a powerful agent in killing microbes and bacteria; it also has anti-fungal properties that are essential for killing mold. The type of vinegar you use is your choice, you can use apple cider vinegar or white distilled vinegar. They’re both non-toxic and can be used around your pets safely!
2. Lemon Juice:
Lemon juice isn’t as strong as vinegar as far as smell or the acetic acid content. But, lemon juice is a power antibacterial and anti-fungal agent. You can combine vinegar and lemon juice for a boost of acidity and it works great for cleaning calcium and lime deposits. Plus, you can clean that soap scum with it and it’ll be gone! You can also use lemon juice by itself for other things like coffee and tea stains and if you don’t have a lemon, feel free to sub it with a lime.
3. Baking Soda:
Baking soda is known as sodium bicarbonate and is an effective, mild abrasive that is great for scrubbing countertops and sinks. It’s also an alkaline which is the opposite of acidic. This makes it a great companion to vinegar and it really boosts its effectiveness when cleaning grease or using it to unclog a drain!
4. Hydrogen Peroxide:
Now Peroxide has anti-fungal properties and antiseptic it’s also oxygen-based bleach. It kills mold and removes tough stains. It can breakdown odor-causing compounds in urine stains. It may be a bleaching agent, but it breaks down and turns into oxygen and water. It doesn’t leave behind any toxins or residual toxins that could harm your pets.
